Voices from the Dwelling Retrospective
Join Authoring Action and The Dwellers for the Voices from the Dwelling Retrospective. Hear powerful and profound stories, poems, songs and most importantly, insights into the lives of our most vulnerable citizens. We are eager for this presentation and important conversation for our community. While attendance is free, we kindly ask that you donate what you can to support this program and future events.
This program is supported by the WS Arts Council's Arts for Everybody Grant funds and from support from individuals like yourself. Can't make it? Please consider showing your support with a program donation. All donations will go towards supporting the program's ongoing initiatives to equip marginalized voices and promote inclusivity in the arts.
By attending, you will gain insight into the full personhood of people living on the margins of our community, gain a more full understanding of the phenomena of homelessness, diminish stereotypes that exist about people experiencing homelessness, and learn how the service delivery system may unwittingly contribute to the oppressive qualities of homelessness - individually, culturally and systemically. Indeed it is our goal that their stories and voices can bring a dismantling of oppressive systems, insight and healing to the larger community that often overlooks them.
