Authoring Action will host its 11th Annual major fundraising event in a new, virtual format entitled Taste of the South at...Home. Guests will continue to enjoy regional flavors from our local W-S restaurants to be picked up and enjoyed at home while watching the virtual entertainment.

Authoring Action will host its 11th Annual major fundraising event in a new, virtual format entitled Taste of the South at...Home. Guests will continue to enjoy tastings of the very best in Southern cuisine, but this year your ticket will reserve a drive-through pick up time to receive prepackaged, exquisite, Southern tastings to enjoy at home while watching the online, virtual entertainment by Authoring Action.

Tickets, only $50 per reservation online through Monday, November 16.

The event will feature Southern tastes from local favorites in the Winston-Salem restaurant scene. Guests will enjoy a virtual program featuring:

  • tasting descriptions
  • a silent auction
  • updates from Authoring Action
  • and special performances by Authoring Action Renaissance Assegai members Jimmie “JJ” Jeter from the cast of Hamilton, and Tony Jenkins, NYC director, actor, and playwright.

On the evening of the event, guests will drive through and pick up their tastings in the parking lot at Bib’s Downtown (675 W. 5th Street) from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Pickup times will be selected at the time of ticket purchase. Then they'll return home to watch the virtual program which begins at 7:00 pm and will be available for viewing throughout the evening.

100% of the proceeds of Taste of the South, impact not only the lives of individual youth but also our community as a whole, because through Authoring Action’s programs, local teen authors are empowered to become community leaders and advocates for social courage and change.

It is crucial that we work together to do all we can to provide our young people with the support to survive these turbulent times and to come out on the other side with the tools to negotiate their lives in healthy and productive ways.
